Music is something that students of American Fork High School value. Some of the student’s favorite albums of 2015 so far have been Blurryface by Twenty One Pilots, Beauty Behind the Madness by The Weeknd, and Badlands by Halsey.

Twenty One Pilots is a musical duo with members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Their most recent album, Blurryface, was released in May and placed number one on US Billboard 200 and on US Billboard Vinyl Albums. The single ‘Stressed Out’ became very popular and helped this album reach the charts. Fans of the band loved the independent and alternative aspects of this album.

The Weeknd released his second and most recent album, Beauty Behind the Madness, in August. Singles released beforehand, such as Can’t Feel My Face and The Hills, already had people excited for this album. The album features other top artists including Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran, and Kanye West. The album did amazing worldwide. It came in at number one for US Top R&B Albums and UK R&B Albums.

Badlands is the debut and concept album for the singer and songwriter Halsey. Fans were anticipating this album after singles like, Hurricane, Ghost, and New Americana had been previously released. The title and songs of Badlands are references to a deep state of mind. This album is done in an alternative pop style and placed number two on US Billboard 200 and Australian Albums.

2015 has been a big year so far for music. Students of our high school like all different types of music, artists, and albums. It would be impossible to write about what everybody loves, but these three albums capture a glimpse of our school’s music taste.
