Sadie’s theme this year was tropical paradise. Which means people had to get creative with their “costumes”. Congratulations American Fork, your outfits were off the hook! We the Forkaster, went to sadies and found super entertaining ensembles, that people tied with the Sadies tropical theme. People were dressed in costumes ranging from Lifeguards to Tourists, Hawaiian dancers to Sharks the possibilities were endless and very wild.
Some costumes were bought and some were made at home. The tropical relation to your ensembles was striking. Many of the outfits were humorous and many quite obvious. Mikayla Jensen and her group made a whimsical choice in regards to their Sadie’s costumes, the girls wore a pineapple shirt and the boys wore a coconut shirt to represent… the tropical delicacy, Pina Colada! There were a bunch of unique costumes but the couple that stood out to us specifically was James Bridges and his date, Ava Anderton who went as sharks in their shark onesies. Lifeguard costumes seemed to be a popular choice among many couples during this year’s dance such as Madison Thompson and her date.
Half the fun of dances like these are the ensembles. A bonus is building bonds with the person as you design your masterpieces. The possibilities are endless. Have fun with it! Be original and get creative! Use past ideas as inspiration or come up with a new authentic idea, and the dance will be worth your while. The more ludicrous the better in some cases. Get wild and have some fun making your costumes and go dance the night away.
