The Hunger Games: Rebel’s View

The Hunger Games: Rebel’s View

From District 13:

Katniss Everdeen has decided to represent our rebellion. She is the symbol, the Mockingjay. She did not decide this immediately however. She was stubborn, and did not want to do it in the beginning. After discussing with the District 13 leaders and agreeing to a list of conditions, Katniss decided to represent us.

One of her conditions was to get the victors back that were captured by the Capitol after the Quarter Quell games; Johanna Mason, Peeta Mellark, and Annie Cresta. District 13 sent a squad of volunteer soldiers to the Capitol to retrieve the victors. They succeeded in their mission and safely brought the victors back to District 13. The victors were not in good condition, physically and mentally, after being tortured and tormented by the Capitol, Peeta being the worst. Rumors are spreading that Peeta’s mind and memories were hijacked by the Capitol and he tried to strangle Katniss, remembering her only as a hated monster.
What happened to Peeta could affect our revolution. To agree to be the Mockingjay, Katniss asked for Peeta back, but not in the state he came in. This could be a weak point for Katniss, too traumatized to continue. If we’re lucky, this could make her even angrier with the Capitol than before. She has a lot to be angry about because of the Capitol. We all do. That is why this revolution is happening. With Katniss as our leader, we will finally get well-deserved revenge against President Snow and the Capitol.
