In American Fork, there is 3 great options to go see your movie: Towne Cinemas, a.k.a the sticky shoe, Water Gardens Cinema 6, and The Cinemark. All 3 of which are fantastic theaters that receive great attendance and success.
Towne Cinema has been around longer than most would remember, in its hey-day being a go-to theater, for the viewers of American Fork. As audiences grew larger staff began to struggle to keep up with messes and the Cinema earned its moniker of “The Sticky Shoe”. Today the Sticky Shoe has massive audiences as it is by far the cheapest where a ticket rings in at $1.50, also offering other discounts; The Sticky Shoe is definitely a huge success. However, because of its massive audiences and extremely small theaters and staff, the lobby and theaters are often just short of “fresh”. These flaws, though, are definitely pardonable due to its legacy and price.
Water Gardens Cinema 6 is the newest of all three when it filled an empty space in Pleasant Grove. The theater is founded on simple principles, all of which are very “family-friendly”. It’s definitely in the middle between its two competitors in terms of price, titles, and theater. Its tickets come in at $4 as well as cheap treats. Reviewers love this theater as it is great when the group is just interested in a movie. “This is probably one of the best theaters around. The tickets are cheap and they have every snack you can think of. Definitely fun for anyone of all ages.” Because of its larger size the lobby and theater are often clean, however only titles that usually are out of the larger theaters are shown. Commodities such as 3d showings and luxury seating are not offered, however, justifiable due to its price.
Cinemark American Fork would be the most “commercial” of the three due to its corporate ownership. Because of this, they can show large titles as they are published as well as large events such as premiers. However the theater has long-since been updated, most of the equipment they use are old and beginning to be noticeably outdated. Reviewers noted that the theater is often dirty. Because it is a much larger theater the tickets are $9.50, much higher than both the Water Gardens and the Sticky Shoe, on Tuesday 5 dollar tickets are offered.
