The Students of AFHS Favorite Christmas Reads!

The Students of AFHS Favorite Christmas Reads!

Christmas is rolling around, and what is better than sitting by the fire wrapped up in a fuzzy Christmas blanket, sipping hot cocoa and reading a good old fashioned Christmas book? Wait! Christmas books?!? They make those! Why yes. Yes they do. There are cute little picture books that you can read to your siblings or more lengthy books directed towards youth. So this Christmas season I went around and asked the students and teachers at American Fork High School what great books they liked being transported into for the holidays. A personal favorite is Grace by Richard Paul Evans.

Here is what the students of American Fork High School reccomend:

Elise Thomas said that she enjoys Christmas Bell for Anya and Christmas Oranges. Colton Butler says “My favorite book is the 25 days of Christmas muppet edition”. “Oh my gosh” said Kayla Jackman “The Christmas shoes. That book breaks my heart everytime and the song does too.”  Mallory Shields enjoys The Christmas Sweater By Glenn Beck

Now of course we couldn’t talk about Christmas books without talking to our very own librarians! (Mrs. Chadwick and Mrs. Knight) So here are some books that they recommended:

Picture Books:

-Christmas day in the morning: Pearl S. Buck

-Polar Express: Chris Van Allsburg

-Twas the night before Christmas: Clement Clarke Moore

-Snowmen at Christmas: Caralyn Buehner

Chapter Books:

-Best Christmas pageant ever: Barbara Robinson

-The Christmas Carol: Charles Dickens

-Gift of the Magi: O. Henry

-Birds Christmas Carol: Kate Douglas Wiggin

As you can see, there are so many good Christmas reads. So, as you take a break from school this Christmas break, be sure to pick up a Christmas book to keep you occupied. Happy Holidays and Happy Reading. Love, The Forkaster
